Remedy Plumbing was quick to respond to my request on Angi. He was available to come same day, if needed, but we scheduled our appointment for 3 days later. He was on time and very quickly resolved the issue. After sharing a bathroom with my teenage daughter for over a month, we now have our own bathrooms again. Carla R60 days agoCalled Remedy Plumbing to replace a spigot so that I could use the hose in my backyard. They had to replace a section of the pipe from the inside. It was copper and they replaced it with copper. They did a great job! Arrived as scheduled, cleaned up and were very transparent showing me what they were doing and explainjng the work taking place. He performed an additional task (changing a fixture on a bathtub) that we hadn’t discussed, but it was very attractively done and at no additional cost, which was very much appreciated. Leslie Cradlin285 days agoWe’ve been using Remedy for years. Service is always prompt and top quality. Rema and his crew have done everything in our home: unclog drains, fix leaks, install new sinks and fixtures, and repair toilets. This morning we woke to a flooded basement due to our hot water heater. I was able to call at 6:30 am on Sunday and FaceTime with Rema to get instructions on how to turn off the water to the unit. He went to 2 hardware stores prior to coming to our home to inspect the unit to determine what stock was available. After determining which unit would work best he went back to purchase the correct unit and returned to install the new water heater. I have recommended Remedy to numerous friends and neighbors. (Columbia, MD) Garbage disposal failed me, gave Remedy a call that afternoon. The tech (Rema) said he would try to be there that evening; he did call, apologizing that he would not be there on time and asked if could come first thing in the morning. He was in fact here first things, as promised. Very friendly and efficient; I had already researched the cost of the replacement, and while no one wants to have an unexpected appliance repair, I did not have to sacrifice a child or limb to have the work done. The other half of the sink was not leaking but its piping was apparently bad, upward incline after the trap. They showed up at the beginning of the 9-10am time window, quickly looked at the problem, and then were able to get the parts from Home Depot and do the replacement immediately. They tested both sinks for leaks and tested the disposal (wired wall switch). Dishwasher tube was connected to disposal but not tested (would have required running the dishwasher for a full cycle). Overall they were professional and courteous. Answered questions about pricing and why the extra piping work was needed. No significant mess left behind. Time taken ~2 hours total. Cost detail as follows: Replaced 1/2 hp garbage disposal (Insinkerator Badger 500) - $479 Replaced Two traps for dual sink drain - $200 Total - $679 The price is more than I had expected for this project as I had not anticipated the extra pipe work, but per google the sink trap replacement cost appears average. They removed the old toilet, installed the new toilet, processed the paperwork, and disposed of the old toilet, all in less than an hour. We declined his offer, choosing to obtain a second opinion. We called Remedy Plumbing and they came out same day! They conducted a thorough examination of the existing toilet and also recommended a replacement. They even recommended a specific brand of toilet. Same day Remedy drove to Home Depot, bought a toilet, installed new and removed the old. I am pleased to say they charged much less than the other company and did a fantastic job! He had to replace the existing fill valve. The existing fill valve would not fit the new flush valve. He clean up and there were no problems. Rema arrived within an hour and did a complete inspection, finding no leaks, and confirming that the meter showed no usage. He suggested it could be between the meter and the street, though no water was visible. My townhouse neighbor was asked to look for a leak, and WSSC will be notified. Since no leak was found, I was not charged anything for the inspection. A service charge would have been acceptable to me. Rema was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He was able to come out 2 days after I called (it wasn't an emergency) and asked me to text photos of my toilets in advance so he could bring the right parts, which he did. They showed up on time and stayed late to get our basement put back into tip top shape as quickly as possible. It took approximately six weeks to complete the full job. They would have finished sooner if I didn't have to have this special shower surround, me and my bright ideas which went on back order as we entered into pandemic mode! But I loved it all when they finished. I have two sump pumps and they are my go-to team ANYTIME I have problems. The second time we called on a Sunday for an appointment for them to come on Monday. Again, they were on time. Their work was fine, prices fair, and the gentleman even pointed out an issue that we had to pay attention to, and as it turned out, he was right. He cleaned up after himself. We have no complaints. Rema, the owner, responded immediately on a Saturday. He serviced my garbage disposal the next day, a Sunday, and did not charge an emergency fee. Per my request, they texted when they were close so I could get my large dog settled. They took out the old garbage disposal and installed new one. The space under my sink is very tight, so it was not an easy job! They completed the job- did not leave any trash behind.
